Ozone pest control of grain

چکیده

Abstract Grain insect pests impact adversely on the agrarian industry. Insects make a significant portion of crops to become unusable. During storage, lacking proper monitoring and control, different tend grow in grains. In laboratory conditions, grain cereal heaps are most often infested by weevils flour beetles. Since growing very rapidly, it is necessary immediately apply pest control actions. Ozonation can effectively destroy large proportion insects. However, recommended ozone concentrations for disinfection excessive hazardous humans. Therefore, lower should be applied treatment. To this end, ranging from 1.4 5 mg/m 3 with an exposure interval hours found sufficient completely exterminate weevil. It difficult maintain constant dose used gas mixture, so one focus concentration above 1.0 g·min/m . beetle, ozonize under given conditions more than 8 hours. situation, surpass 1.8 carried out until death 40… 50% insects, remaining part dies over next day.

Phosphine Mortality Estimation for Simulation of Controlling Pest of Stored Grain: Lesser Grain Borer (Rhyzopertha dominica)

There is a world-wide need for the development of sustainable management strategies to control pest infestation and the development of phosphine (PH3) resistance in lesser grain borer (Rhyzopertha dominica). Computer simulation models can provide a relatively fast, safe and inexpensive way to weigh the merits of various management options. However, the usefulness of simulation models relies on ...

Nanotechnology-based Pest Control

Given the development of nanotechnology within numerous scientific disciplines, it is likely that nanoscale products have been and will be used for agricultural, vector, and urban pest control prior to a complete evaluation of exposure and risk. Significant differences may exist between nanotechnology-based pesticides (NBPs) and conventional pesticides, primarily due to size and surface charact...
